Jaws Options

RIP products use the Global Graphics Jaws RIP Engine for coverting PDF/PS/EPS documents files into pixels for the purposes of printing. The Jaws RIP is a native PDF/PS/EPS interpreter and pixel rasterizer. The Global Graphics Jaws RIP Engine has been integrated with the ONYX ColorCollapsed and image processing libraries to generate processed data that can be printed to large format printers. You can configure RIP using following options.

  • Antialiasing – This option smooths areas of the image that appear jagged. [Antialiasing] is particularly helpful when printing to contone devices at low resolutions. Choose a low "Sample Size" for faster and tighter Antialiasing, and a higher sample size for a slower but wider range of Antialiasing. Select the shape of the filter used when sampling pixels by choosing either [Triangle Filter] or [Box Filter]. Check this box when your image shows jagged.
  • Override Default RIP Settings - This feature gives you the ability to modify default RIP settings for a specific Quick SetCollapsed without changing the default settings and behavior of the overall product. Enable this box, and click [Settings…] button. This opens Configure RIP dialog.
